Jonathan grew up an Army brat and jumped into the ski industry after high school—working slopes both in the U.S. and in New Zealand before trading snow for soil. In 2014, he and his father took over Colorado Manure Hauling, which later became part of the Timberline Rock N Roll family. That same passion for healthy land and nutrient-dense food quickly evolved into large-scale composting.
By 2015, Jonathan was building big compost piles at home and putting them to work in his family’s extensive garden—and sharing the goodness with neighbors. By 2020, he was helping process 20,000–30,000 cubic yards of compost annually. Jonathan and his wife have been growing their own food with their four kids since 2007, and they believe that quality compost is key to healthier soil, better food, and a stronger community.
He’s a Certified Compost Professional through the U.S. Composting Council and has led composting clinics across Elbert County. He’s also worked with the Bio-Nutrient Food Association to promote regenerative growing practices. Whether it’s teaching others or digging into a pile himself, Jonathan’s all about giving back to the earth—so it can give right back to us.
