The Yard & Loader Operator is responsible for the daily maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of the yard, materials, and equipment. Working closely with the drivers, loaders and Management, this position will ensure efficient and timely execution of tasks, including receiving materials into the yard.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains and operates front-end loader including greasing and routine maintenance, pre and post inspections of equipment before and after shift
- May also run skid-steers, loader, forklifts, water truck, and mowers
- Screens materials, mixes soil products, and loads out customers
- Builds product bins and other yard equipment as needed
- Maintains a clean and organized yard and equipment (including fueling and mowing) that is presentable to clients and potential customers
- Treats clients and potential clients with respect
- Communicates efficiently to drivers who are delivering materials where to drop them off to avoid costly contamination
- Reports any accidents, incidents or injuries to Material/Transportation Manager and/or human resources immediately
- Reports damaged equipment to Material/Transportation Manager and/or human resources immediately
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Knowledge of landscape materials
- Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Respectful and tactful approach to all customers and employees
- Demonstrate dependability and efficient work practices. Excellent customer service, communication, and listening skills
- Must be highly adaptable to the kinds of change that comes along with working in an entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to work in and promote a team-oriented environment
- Ability to speak, read and write English.
- Perform all duties in a safe and productive manner, and make recommendations for a safer work area
- Ensure adherence to operational policies, procedures to achieve safety objectives

Desired:
- Landscape industry experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to lift to up to 75 lbs. (heavier things will require another person to help)
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, crawling, stretching and standing.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather
